Today 5 members of team Brompton took part in their first GoodGym session as part of their new starter immersion in the company - what a great way to get started in their new careers!

We were blessed with glorious sunshine and after a brief explanation as to what we’d be doing for the morning they were all keen to begin, starting with the 3 mile cycle down to the William Hobbayne Centre where our task awaited us.

We pedalled through some beautiful green spaces before arriving to find a June from the Charity ready with the tools to get us started and to tell us all about the project.

The trees were planted 5 years ago and the charity have been working with the community to keep them clear from overgrowth and give them the best chance of survival. It’s been a huge success and we were here to ensure that continues!

We gathered the tools and made our way to the canal where the trees are located. We quickly got to work cutting back the overgrowth and revealing trees that needed our help. Some needed re-staking for support and the team were excited about the fact that doing so would mean they were helping to save these trees and allow them to be here for years to come.

We worked away in the heat for about an hour and the difference to the space we incredible, so much more space for the trees to breathe and grow!

The cycle back was through more lovely parks and before we knew it we were back at Brompton HQ saying our farewells.

Excellent work from everyone involved today!
