Heavy lifting for a good cause
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Redbridge.
- Saturday, 16th of July 2022
I decided to put my bike to use and cycled about 5k to the foodbank to pick up the parcel. As this was my first time doing this mission I didn't make a note of collection voucher and I deleted my mail apps from my phone in an attempt to use it less! But there was plenty of time to login and find the details as there was a bit of a queue to collect deliveries.
The deliveries consisted of one big box and a bag. I managed to secure the box on at the back of my bike and put the tins etc into my bag at the front - brompton is a handy little vehicle!!!
Once loaded up, with photos taken for the report, I cycled to Mr K. Of course it being Redbridge a driver behind beeped at me to get out of the way of the road that we all have the right to use on bike or by car. I of course "politely" let him know about it;)
Seems that the doorbell wasn't working so I rang Mr K's mobile number and delivered his food bags. He was very grateful and seem to be getting better after his surgery, which is great news! An enjoyable mission as it's great to see the positive impact in person!
