Hedging our Bets
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Windsor and Maidenhead.
- Sunday, 19th of December 2021
Georgeta and Sheila took over from the great work started by Diya and Kanika in Mr A's garden. Georgeta immediately took charge of the large privet hedge, using a smaller hedge trimmer than before to trim the remaining area. By the end of the session it was looking beautifully neat and tidy, and Mr A was delighted with the result. Georgeta then made short work of pruning the Buddleia to a more manageable size. Sheila tried to tame the lawn using the petrol-driven strimmer, which turned out to be a bit of a beast. but still could not cope with the tough, long, wet grass and so resorted to using the shears instead. Not a bowling-green finish, unfortunately, but looking a lot better than at the start. A quick litter-pick round the bottom of the hedges improved the vista no end. The green bins were filled to the brim - we will have to make a return visit to finish cutting up and disposing of the remaining prunings. Mr A was extremely grateful for our efforts and we enjoyed having the opportunity to make a difference for him
