One of the local councillors Steve Radford occasionally asks me to help out delivering hampers to local people in dire need of assistance. Sadly it looks as if there is going to be more need for this service again as we go into lockdown for a second time. I was humbled to go and visit so many desperate people, some not out of their pyjamas at getting on for midday and one household which did not look occupied because there were bits of newspaper taped up at the front window. I was able to give these people two hampers as I had a couple spare, and their already wide grin widened as they now have food for good while. I don't have much myself but bringing a smile to people's faces especially when it is raining is a great payment for me.
