Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
It was a steady seven kilometres run in the summer sun with our legs eleven runners. The Group Run task in hand was to deliver Age UK pamphlets to local medical centres to inform them of the great range of activities available to older people in BANES.
Their befriending service naturally got us talking about the GoodGym Coach runs and one-off Missions. (If you'd like to be involved in these activities but haven't had your DBS check yet then let us know and we'll get the GoodGym ball rolling.)
Our run route started on Great Pultney Street where we felt the burn early on with some walking lunges, we then tricep-dipped in Twerton, perfected our push-ups and planks up in Oldfield Park and finished up with sets of sit-ups on the grassy banks of the River Avon.
We also armed ourselves with GoodGym fliers to hand out to fellow Tuesday night runners in the hope that it would encourage them join us to get fit and do good. Hopefully we'll see new faces at future runs as a result, just as the BBC Points West report inspired John S to seek us out and join our jolly ranks.
Welcome to Jaxx tonight and thanks for the details about other club runs in the area (naturally GoodGym t-shirts are compulsory clobber for these events) :
Monday - 6:30pm - Sweaty Betty
Wednesday - 6:30pm - Running Bath
Thursday - 7:15pm - John Moore Sports
Also there's the fabulous Bath Skyline parkrun every Saturday morning at 9:00am and often a glorious GoodGym one-off mission run later on a Saturday morning too.
Thank you all for a fun run, special thanks to John R and Mim for back marking.
And it's a fond farewell to Charles, we look forward to following your on going running adventures so send us pics showing your GoodGym T-shirt on tour. Thanks for the run pun!
Steph is back next week, meanwhile I'm off to try the Moby plank challenge to the soundtrack of 'Bring Sally Up'. Pascale
