Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
We began the evening with 29 GoodGymmers keen to let the residents of Islington know all about computer classes for beginners taking place at The Old Fire Station. We managed to shift almost 1200 of them! We also had our first time trial of 2016. Some great results with a new women's record set and six PBs.
Before the run even began Camden hero Pritesh brought his little pink bicycle to a stop, took off his yellow SpongeBob helmet and WhatsApped over a great debate suggestion: in light of recent sad news "What is the best David Bowie song?" Lots of good suggestions including Space Oddity, Life on Mars, Changes, Suffragette City, Oh! You Pretty Things and of course Heroes. There were quite a few heroes out and about tonight....
Paul is a hero for all his taskforcing and covering and general Islington heroing over the last year. Good luck in Camden, Trainer Paul.
Frances is a hero for her sub-3 minute effort at the time trial. A nice big PB despite being distracted by the bell (edit: Frances does definitely not steal or lose bells)
Ben's a hero for connecting Strava and making sure his runs contribute to the January challenge
Georgina's a hero for making us think she was a newcomer with a crafty "hat disguise"
Patrick M's a hero for having a mental Christmas story. Ask him about it.
Aidan is a hero for getting that time trial result back down after a dodgy December.
Jill is a hero for tail running and a time trial PB
William is a hero cos he listens to hip hop while running
Jo is a hero. New GG Southwark trainer Jo provided much-needed warm ups and showed she is pretty good at balancing on one leg
Alex is a hero for earning his Welcome Mat badge by doing his first good deed for GoodGym. He also set the Men's 2016 Emirates Stadium Time Trial Record with a time of 02:11 - just 7 seconds off the all-time record.
Rich is a hero for earning his High Five badge. Five good deeds with GoodGym.
Beth is a hero for logging her first run on the GG site. And for ringing the bell so well and giving fatigued time triallers a much-needed boost during their final 100 metres.
Steve is a hero for co-leading a group this evening and for, well, just being Steve
Sarah is a hero for doing a GoodGym run every single day of January so far. Will she make all of them?
Victoria is a hero for logging her first training run on the GoodGym site. More January challenge miles.
Lily is a hero for coming back down and showing an interest in coach runs this evening.
Kike is a hero for helping with the time trial results (and cycling so much last week)
Marie is a hero for setting the Women's Emirates Stadium Time Trial Record with a time of 2:40
Sinead is a hero and Kate is a hero for coming along two weeks in a row and completing their first time trials. Look, guys! We didn't scare them away!
Madalena is a hero and Xavier is a hero for getting stuck back in in 2016 after a little break and providing a couple of French lessons.
Graham is a hero for another consistent TT effort and taking a few seconds off his PB.
Patrick L is a hero for providing CHOONZ and CHEERING during the time trial
Meg is a hero for knocking a massive 26 seconds off her time trial time
Caroline is a hero. She just won her Tourist Badge for visiting three different GoodGym areas.
Julia is a hero because she has just won the Finding your Feet badge by completing 15 good deeds.
John is a hero because he earned his Pals Badge during the week: that means he's been to visit his coach five times now.
Simon is a hero for writing this report
Let's make these HEROES into CHEEROES! Yes, if you are reading this report you MUST follow every single link and cheer everybody. Let's make this the cheeriest night in the history of GoodGym.
See you next week,
Simon

I haven't done a good deed every day - there weren't any on the 1st or 2nd but I went to the runs those days!
