Hit The Ground Running
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Westminster.
- Saturday, 10th of December 2016
Vicki and I had our rendezvous just around the corner from Kensington Palace on Saturday morning.
We were met by Frances from Calling London who already had a team of a dozen helpers sorting donated jackets.
The jackets are from various locations around London and requests have been made for them by organisations across the capitol.
Our task was to sort children’s coats into various age ranges, empty pockets of used tissues and bank notes, check functioning zips or poppers and bag up for distribution.
Spot cleaning and small mends were undertaken to make sure all garments were fit for purpose. A little time was passed making comparison on what items came from where and the corresponding brands.
We were sure the jackets would be appreciated and hoped they would all find new homes.
Hundreds of bags, full of jackets for all ages, were processed and redistribution was commenced.
