Today was the festive fuddle at Derbyshire Cricket Foundation's Parkinson's Cricket session, and what a feast we all had!

To warm up, the players had target practice. Alex had set up cones representing the different coloured lights on a Christmas tree, and two teams each threw balls at them. The cones that were hit were then removed from the game and stashed in two piles, one for each team. I looked after the orange team, and another volunteer collected for the yellows. Alex had secretly assigned points to each different coloured "fairy light", including (rather ingeniously) negative points for one of the colours. We then totted up the results, and it turned out that the team that hit the fewest cones actually won. Quality counted more than quantity.

We then had a quick game of cricket before tucking into our delicious food.

That's the end of Parkinson's Cricket for 2024, but we'll be back again next year, and are looking forward to it already.
