Hoe Hoe Hoe
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Swindon.
- Saturday, 30th of November 2019
Two Goodgymers forgave their usual Saturday morning routines to help someone who is losing her eyesight and has become housebound. Mrs J is very houseproud and it would ease her mind if GoodGym could help her out by weeding her front garden and driveway.
Charles having arrived earlier than expected decided to make up for not park running by taking part in a short hills session in a nearby road that was ideal for the exercise. He finished and was met by Andrew who was waiting patiently by the house. We rang the doorbell to say hello and Mrs J. informed us that her side gate was open which gave us access to the tools that she had kindly prepared for us.
Her drive and front stone lawn had plenty of weeds sticking through and in no time at all, we set about trying to remove as many weeds and tufts of grass as we could. Thankfully it wasn't raining and for once the sun was shining, Charles began clearing the drive and Andrew started working on the lawn. Soon a bin bag began to rapidly fill up with weeds, grass and roots and before we knew it the hour was up. We tidied up, put the tools away and rang the doorbell to say we were done. Mrs J was delighted with the results and we departed feeling proud that once again GoodGym had made a difference.
