TUBE STRIKES, TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND DOG MESS

....3 THINGS THAT COULDN'T STOP GOODGYM CAMDEN THIS WEEK.

Despite Tube Strikes we had 21 lovely people at Somers Town this week. They headed north, stopping at the 105 traffic lights on route, to Castlehaven Community Centre. We were there to continue the work we have been doing in the parks surrounding the centre. Dodging the delicious dog muck left by lazy residents we dug a bed, weeded the paths, chopped up branches for the compost, and shifted loads of detritus from their garden store.

DECOMPOSING GRASS, FENCE POSTS AND RUBBER RINGS

....3 THINGS A GROUP OF 8 SHIFTED FROM AROUND A SHIPPING CONTAINER

Sounds complicated doesn't it. We had to make a pathway around a huge container that is languishing in Castlehaven's storage space under a railway arch. They're running out of space in there, so are having it removed with a crane this week. We needed to make sure the crane could gain a clear path to shift it out. We used good old fashioned GoodGym muscle!

HOES, HAND TOOLS AND FORKING AROUND

.......3 THINGS THE REST OF THE GROUP GOT UP TO.

There were 3 other main tasks; hoe-ing and weeding the pathways, digging a new bed around the perimeter, and tidying up the hundreds of fallen branches on the nature trail. We did them all, virtually and we did them good.

JOG, PUSH, SPRINT

.....3 PACES WE USED DURING OUR KENYAN FARTLEK SESSION TO FINISH THE EVENING.

We went down to Regents Park and boshed out an impressive Fartlek session, continually shifting gears as we legged it round the park. Nice work.

As you heard yesterday, last weekend Pritesh and Steve took part in Ride London, cycling 100 miles each, including some fairly brutal hills on a very hot day, to raise money for their local Citizens Advice.

Thanks to everyone who bought a rocky road at the pub last night to help with their fundraising efforts, hope you enjoyed them! For everyone who promised to donate online, here are the links (pick one cyclist or split your donation between both) - and thanks so much for supporting a really great cause.
