Mark, Dave and Gosia met up today in Westminster to help Ms P. in tidying her garden - trim the hedges, do some weeding and raking the leaves. Right after the arrival the rain started (how convenient!), with every passing minute getting more and more heavy. Obviously, this hasn’t stopped GG team in completing the mission this evening!

We spent most of the time on trimming the hedges; they haven’t seen secateurs for a while – that’s for sure! As Ms P. said she was trying to get someone to help her in dealing with these for few weeks now. She was glad and pleasantly surprised that one call with GG team she had this week was enough to arrange the help for her so quickly.

The biggest challenge was to cut back the holly bush which grew very high (even one of the tallest GG members - Mark and Dave were struggling to reach out). It had also few very thick branches not easy to cut and – what was especially unpleasant without proper gloves – treated every single one of us with its spiky, very aggressive leaves. We have patiently approached a challenge successively evening out and shaping the bush using our top class secateurs skills.

Before we left we tidied up the trimmings and all other mess we have done. At the same time we managed to rake and get rid of some of the fallen leaves (seems that autumn is already here).

Ms P. was very thankful for the help and mentioned that if she could she would give us the highest scores for this task. For a ‘nice goodbye’, she also offered us a dark chocolate with ginger but only Dave gave it a try. After a quick chat with Ms P. we headed home – wet from head to foot – but also really pleased we had a chance to do something good this rainy evening 😊.
