GoodGym were asked, by the NHS Foundation Trust, to help Mr K, who's currently in hospital, by creating space, in his home, for a hospital bed.

Mr K's upstairs electric bed is not working and is missing the controller, so he agreed for ground floor living while his electric bed and stair lift are sorted.

Mat and I arrived, through heavy traffic, to be met by Margaret, a hospital social worker.

Unfortunately, we were unable to access the property, as a key was missing from the key safe. Following several phone calls to the hospital, ward and Mr K, it was arranged for Margaret to go back to the hospital, to pick up a full set of keys from Mr K.

Mat and I retired to a local café to wait...and enjoyed a light snack and cuppa 😉

Margaret managed to pick up the keys, and we all returned to the house.

In order to accommodate the hospital bed, a large number of garden items needed to be removed to the garage, and furniture in the back room had to be shifted upstairs.

Mat and I, along with help from Margaret, moved as much as we could.

However, it soon became apparent that more preparation would be needed for the room to be clean, safe and secure enough for Mr K to return home.

Margaret made the decision that Mr K was too vulnerable to be discharged into his home, at this point, which would first need to be cleaned to a higher standard. And so sadly, the task remains to be completed.
