Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Bethan Critchley
Time seems to be flying at the moment - it hardly feels like a week since I last saw Mrs M! We had a quick chat on the doorstep as usual, before I asked Mrs M to Gimme! (Gimme! Gimme!) the list - there weren't many surprises on there, although runny honey and chicken frankfurters were new additions. As we talked through the list and Mrs M handed me the Money (Money, Money), we chatted about the joyful arrival of a new baby girl in Mrs M's family. Mrs M also told me "The Day Before You Came, I asked if someone could collect my prescription" - I was signed up to do this task tomorrow, but as Mrs M has run out of her meds I said that I would swing by Boots for her today instead. At this point her physiotherapist came along - apparently Mrs M speaks highly of her "Super Trouper" shopper, as the physio seemed to know a lot about me! I took the physio's arrival as my chance to head off to the shops; first stop was Boots, then I headed to the supermarket.
Things started off well at Tesco, as I managed to get Two for the Price of One on rich tea biscuits. However, I could feel a full house Slipping Through My Fingers when there were no sweet potatoes to be found. There weren't any at Sainsbury's or the co-op either... Mamma Mia! I managed to collect everything else on the list and packed up Mrs M's trolley to take back to her. She was most grateful for my efforts as always - each week she Take(s) A Chance On Me to get her favourite foods, and after so many months of Knowing Me (Knowing You) she is sure that she can count on me to get as many of her desired items as possible. Mrs M treated me to some hot-out-of-the-oven spring rolls today as a thank you - despite my insistence that she should keep them, she wouldn't let me leave without them. They made a lovely addition to my lunch when I got back to work, so thank you Mrs M!
