Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Gosia Rybacka
Beth, Gosia and Alix (doing her 1st MISSION ever WOOHOO ๐๐๐) met up in Hackney today to help out Mr W and his wife in rearranging furniture in their flat ๐ข.
The main task was to do whatever is needed to help the couple to put their hospital beds together so they can stay close to each other during the night. The one belonging to Mr W was in a different room and he couldn't move it by himself.
First, we emptied a space in the room, were Mr W's wife sleeps by removing a sofa.๐, cupboard and few other belongings. Then, we attempted to move Mr W's bed, overcoming few challenges on the way, incl. plugs, locked brakes and the fact that the bed was too wide to fit in the door (eventually we turned it around to do it and that). Anyway, few graceful moves ๐ฆ and both beds were in the right room.
We worked together with Mr W to adjust the position of the beds exactly as he wanted - making them standing alongside each other, keeping the heads on the same side. Once we all happy with the position, we locked the brakes again and plugged everything in. Mr W tested if the remotes worked fine and they did! Yay!
Just to finish off the task we put the sofa in the room where previously Mr W's bed was placed and it actually fitted great. The job was done and Mr W didn't want to change anything else ๐.
Before we left, he thanked us few times, and we could sense from the way he expressed it that this was very, very important for him. We were touched and really glad it really didn't take that much time and effort to make this difference for both of them tonight. Goodnight!
