Two Goodgymers showed up for this week's Luton Food Cycle meal, one joined the kitchen crew and one boosted the hosting team. An assortment of sadly surplus but nutritious produce had already been collected from local retail donors and weighed in at 15kg. This was diverted from waste and turned into a three course meal enjoyed by guests and volunteers at the dining tables, with abundant second helpings and packaged takeaways. Quite the learning curve for me on the subject of food waste and a satisfying and sociable task for us both.
