It was a hot and sunny day. Having vastly underestimated how long it would take me to run to Mrs S' place, I arrived just in the nick of time to meet Andrew, who was thankfully carrying two pairs of gardening gloves. Thanks Andrew!

Mrs S led us through to her garden, which had a multitude of beautiful rose bushes in bloom. Unfortunately, some were hidden behind some overgrown couch grass, and the lawn needed a bit of TLC. Andrew managed to work his magic with the little lawnmower, and I found myself a shady spot to begin digging out some of the weeds. Mrs S told us she used to do this herself, which is pretty impressive, as the couch grass was stubborn to say the least!

Mrs S also told us she sometimes had herons in her garden, but none had decided to grace us with their presence on this occasion. We did encounter a friendly neighbourhood cat, and quite a lot of worms. The rose bushes had obviously been grown with a lot of love and care, and Mrs S said she was looking forward to enjoying them in the sunny weather, perhaps from the shade of her porch.

This was a really fun first mission. Hopefully Mrs S gets some time to relax in her beautiful garden.
