Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Islington runner
Mrs J has a small courtyard garden with some nice flowers and bushes, her enjoyment of which is spoilt by a scattering of weeds.
I was delighted that she had a 'garden waste' wheelie bin (no easily-holed plastic bags for this task!) and set about filling it up with various weeds, including some tenacious grasses and bindweed. I also deadheaded the rose bush, as it clearly wanted to flower some more. Touchingly, Mrs J wanted to make sure that I didn't harm myself on her old and rusty tools.
I then cleaned five windows and the patio doors, so she would be better able to see outside. After 2 hours, I left under a darkening sky, hoping that some much-needed rain might benefit her plants.
