6 Googym members were delighted to be back on the Community Mission trail at Global Gardens!

It was lovely to see Poppy and check on the progress at the project that we have been a big part of. We have visited to help at Global Gardens several times over the last 3 years and we will be back again next month.

We learned this visit that Poppy's favourite flower is a Yarrow - she told Ben that it had a soft leaf that felt like a feather when you stroked it on your face. Rather than picking a leaf off to test this out, he got down on his knees and shoved his head straight in the foliage !!! ;o) (............she was right!)

Chloe, Martin and Nathan cracked on with watering the plants and seeds - they are a dab hand with the watering cans! Mikey, Ben and Darren did some weeding and took away an old arbor that had broken. Mikey Titchmarsh talked us through identifying and untangling the naughty Bindweed that was strangling the plants and herbs.

Once the watering was done the group combined, at a social distance, to continue weeding and tidying the gardens.

It was a productive session and everyone had a great time, with belly laughs to boot, none more so that when discussing Nathan's splitting plums!

We headed off, Ben picked some lavender to take home and no doubt make some tea.....and anything else he fancies! ;o)

Bring on more missions, more running and more fun!
