Bexley News
- Well done to everyone at GoodGym Bexley who run in the Dartford 10k this morning. It was definitely a scorcher and the hills are a killer!
- We are planning our next social which will be after the task at The Old English Gardens in the Danson Stables on the 16th September
Tonight, 11 runners helped to tidy up the litter left in Danson park over the Bank Holiday weekend
The hot bank holiday didn't put the hardcore Bexley GG team off and we had one of the biggest turn outs on a bank holiday Monday for a while. It was good to have the 2 Sarahs' and Johnny join us today.
The sun was still shining and the weather still warm when we made our way out of Crook Log and into Danson Park. We had a team of walkers and a team of runners who re-grouped on entering the park to start our litter pick. We picked and jogged while teaming up into groups of two's, sharing the rubbish bags between us. We had a few passers by say 'Thank you' and also had some interest from people asking about Goodgym.
Just as we thought the park was pretty tidy, we hit the car park and childrens' play area, which was completely littered with plastic bottles, crisp packets, sweet wrappers, baby wipes and the odd dirty nappy. We picked up as much rubbish as we could, most of the bins in the park were already full up! As our bags were full to the brim, we took the chance to grab our group photo and left the bags with the bins before making our way back to Crook Log.
Good work tonight Bexley!
Until next time...
