Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
15 runners ran 5km to shift and sort books at Crofton Park Library
GoodGym tourist Lucy J was booked out last night to lead a lovely load of Lewisham runners to Crofton Park Library to lift, sort and price books and pull up some old carpet too!
After a quick briefing and warm-up, a gentle, chatty run down to the Library with Roni leading the way left us all nice and sweaty in the afternoon sun. On arrival Jason gave us a tour of his beloved library, including the newly renovated garden which had been painted by local street artists. We then got down to work! We split into three groups - one pricing and sorting books for the community bookshop, one sorting the shelves and the third bringing books up from the cellar and sorting them into good and bad - (we found some real gems... see photos!).
30 minutes later, we cleared up and cleared out, ready to tackle some hills on the way home. The route back to page one took us through Hilly Fields Park for hills and drills galore, with Cecilia outdoing herself and newbie Sean absolutely nailing those inclines.
After some squats and a speedy 'chase the hare' sprint, we were all feeling a bit dog-eared when we made it back to Glass Mill Leisure Centre for a stretch and a chat bang on time - no late fees were incurred ;)! A workout, a task and most importantly a selfie to be proud of! Thank you for having me Lewisham!
