The rain lashed down, the wind blew and the temperature dropped but I was still joined by 8 dedicated and determined runners. There is obviously nothing more romantic on Valentines Day than a soggy jog around Colchester Town Centre to 'Deadhead' flowers.

The task, that our lovely bunch undertook, was to deadhead the flowers and remove any litter in the flower-beds and baskets around the town for our good friends at Colchester in Bloom. So without (much) hesitation we set off to the High Street, Balkerne Hill , Crouch Street and Headgate to care for the delightful flowers that decorate our town. We kept warm and active as we buzzed from basket to basket before beelining off to a dry patch at Firstsite for some strength work.

Some top effort was put into lunges, sit ups and press ups with the added bonus of Emily's rendition of Right Said Fred's "I'm too sexy" before we ran back to Leisure World.

Big thanks to Ian for back-marking and organizing the next social, Chrissie for her Sweet Female Attitude inspired run report title, Dan for completing his third session and Vanessa for rocking her red T-Shirt! In fact, well done all for braving the weather.

Happy Valentines and happy running.

Thanks for being a tip top leader! Since wearing the Goodgym red is unavoidable at this stage, I'm being pushed out of my comfort zone on that, and a number of other levels! Thank you Colchester GG☺️
