8 Goodgymers ran 4k to do good and get fit in their community

We appEARed to be lower than usual on numbers this evening, but that didn't leave us tEARy or hEARtbroken, instead we gEARed ourselves up ready to EARn our Goodgym points.

First we congratulated VanessEAR on her parkrun PB, then welcomed our dEARly beloved Emily back after a few weeks away, Ian made his debut in his t-shirt with wings that he has recently EARned and lastly were chEARed Michelle's efforts in making it to the 20 mile point in her marEARthon training!

After a quick Jelly Bean warm up we set off on our way to Pam's house, where she had all the gEAR that we needed for this evening's task. With our EARs switched on we listend to the instructions. We were to clEAR the many weeds that had rEARed their heads over the past few months in two of the Colchester in Bloom flower beds nEAR Pam's house. Once clEAR of the weeds, we got planting - blue hyacinths, 'something long and green' and the lovely elephant ears (or Ella JeffEARs as I first misheard it!).

Pam was impressed at the speed we worked and the extra bushes that got shEARed - she certainly got the most out of us whilst we were there!

After we returned the tools and buckets, Pam invited us to the Colchester in Bloom yEARly awards on the evening of the 2nd October, as she wants to publically thank us for all our hard work and contributions towards the award winning gardens and planting around Colchester. Her one request was that we all must wEAR our Goodgym t-shirts for the occasion. Emily suggested we wEAR flowEARy trousers too!

Then one of Pam's dogs, Elvis, surprised us with some tricks! We were all very impressed and Michelle quickly got involved in directing Elvis too.

We said our goodbyes to Pam, her husband and Elvis the dog and made our way back to LeisEAR World, where the group decided they were just too wEARy to do the fitness session! Instead we planned the whens and wheres of our next social - 19th SeptembEAR at the Three Wise Monkeys.

Don't forget the Panto Horse Race coming up on 23rd September, the more members in the team the better!

Cheers big EARs!
