Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Ipswich runner
{Rebecca](https://www.goodgym.org/runners/rebecca-colquhoun) was making her Goodgym debut tonight - on the recommendation of her brother. A big welcome and we hope you enjoyed it!
The direct distance to our task venue tonight is probably the shortest distance of any Goodgym group in the country at less than 200m! So after a warm up concentrating on drills and balance we set off in the opposite direction to our destination. A roundabout route gave us just over a mile before arriving back - almost where we started - at the Survivors in Transition Centre who support men and women who have experienced sexual abuse in childhood,
The task was to clean the inside windows throughout a large and very beautiful listed building. We started at the top and worked our way down through the building and in true Goodgym blitz style it didn't take long!
The proximity of the run and the speed of which the task was completed left us plenty of time to incorporate a bigger fitness component into tonight's session - Oh how everyone whooped with joy !!
There was a slight twist in that everyone split into pairs and partners had to complete a shuttle run while their opposite number had to endure press ups, squats, planks, bench dips etc. - So partners could decide to be nice and complete their shuttles as quickly as possible......or not!
I don't think anyone deliberately slowed down, but there were some exasperated cries of where is she/he!! as the session worn on. - well done all!
Next week Goodgym nationally is partnering up with WWF Earth Hour with a variety of environmentally themed tasks across the UK.
Goodgym Ipswich will be carrying out a litter pick around Brickmakers Wood on behalf of the Eden Rose Coppice Trust. - you can find all the info and sign up HERE
