6 GG Yorkies joined Louise and Ruth from Abundance, to pick apples and pears.
Abundance are a local charity who locate orchards, trees and areas in the community where there are surplus edible resources. Volunteers help harvest those resources and they are given to foodbanks or projects who provide food to those in need.
Vicky was straight in with the innuendo.
Who's got a nice pear?
I was using a telescopic picker next to Rich who was just picking at the same height with his hands, whilst Lionel was climbing the apple tree to get those just out of reach.
We separated eaters and cookers and windfalls into different bags and boxes. Rich finished gathering the last crop from on top of a bit of child's play equipment to give him extra height, but was definitely too big to come down the slide (he gave it a good go anyway).
