Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Bournemouth runner
Tonight was a wee bit cold....
I was so impressed that there were 8 of us willing to brave the beast from the east. Due to the weather our tasks were canceled so we had to improvise and decided on a litter pick along the beach...
The warm up did the trick and we soon couldn't feel the arctic chill gusting through the Triangle...or perhaps we had gone numb by this point.....or simply implemented Jenni's Jedi Mind tricks and told ourselves it was +10 rather than -3!
The idea was to run to Boscombe Pier, stay warm and collect rubbish on the way back. After putting a scoring system in place: paper 5 points, plastic bag 60 points, random plastic bits 50 points, cans 10 points, dog poo 600 points......brushes......we set off through the peaceful gardens and turned into the wind to head to Boscombe......we quickly turned around and headed the other direction hahahaha great call Abi!!
We ran along collecting bits here and there....even dog poo in bags....which is unreal as there are so many bins along the promenade.
Daryl and Caprice probably won as they both scored 600 plus!! Jenni did also come across about 20 brand new shopping bags still stuck together....and on our way back Lee found a makeup brush! How random is that...
Just before getting back to our meeting point we came across a stack of betting slips from Ladbrooks that had been thrown onto the street...such a shame, but thank GoodGym we were the to pick them all up!!
Back at Flirt Cafe we were seduced by some coffees and beers in their airplane seats....I mean who wouldn't be!!
Well done all of you! Fingers crossed for better weather next week. Thank you Lee for risking the wellbeing of your hands to take some photos and thank you Ross for the fitting title!!
SEE YOU ALL NEXT WEEK! STAY TOASTY!
