With several of the Sheffield goodgym crew regular volunteers at Graves parkrun, we were only too happy to put our hands up when the call came through midweek from Run Director Roger about this week's roster looking a little sparse. The course was inspected early and although there were a few patches of ice, the event went ahead with Steve, Becky, Chris and Mike all strategically positioned ahead of the worst frosty bits and Tom and Suz helping out at the start/finish.

Tom managed some goodgym promotion during the race briefing and was on hand with flyers for anyone interested in joining our merry band.

Watch out for the Ice!

Clearly our efforts paid off, or we blocked the way appropriately, and there were no injuries on our watch. Lots of starjumps and even the occasional burpee kept those of us out on the course warm and once the tail walkers had passed us by we jogged back to the start for a quick warming up with a few additional exercises and finished off the morning with a different kind of warm up in the form of coffee, tea and toast.

We had a really nice thank you before we left from the Run Director who had been really pleased to be able to have us out on the course keeping any eye on those running.
