Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Nick Moore
Well it turns out that I could (and without needing Cher's assistance either...)
Ms S had asked for help to reset her cooker clock after the clock change at the end of March as she said this was stopping her using her cooker - the unusual nature of the task appealed to the engineer (aka geek) in me. After a quick consult of the instruction book, and correct combination of button pressing, I was able to get the clock changed to the correct time and Ms S was pleased she was no longer living in the wrong timezone.
The mission could have ended there, but she then said there was another problem with the oven itself where it wasn't heating up properly, although the rings and top oven all worked okay. I said this was something she'd need a proper gas engineer to take a look at but that it seemed unconnected to the clock issue, especially when the rest of the oven was working.
We agreed though it was unlikely they would be able to send anyone out until the lockdown was lifted but that with both the top oven and rings she said she'd be fine to be able to cook and appreciated the visit and the help.
(It was only as I was running home that I realised that the clocks had actually gone forward at the end of March, but that I'd had to turn Ms S's clock back by an hour...interesting. I wondered where that famous Belgian sleuth was when you most need him...but realised he's probably self-isolating).
