The latest GoodGym run was a visit to Golden Hill Community Allotment. We met at our normal base at Roll for the Soul, and then ran up through the bear pit and Gloucester Road to the allotment in Horfield. We had two tasks, first some speed weeding in the Edible Forest followed by putting up some posters to advertise a community day at the garden.
In the speed weeding session the task was to pull out anything that didn’t look like it had been planted. We worked quickly as a team from the top of the garden, clearing the whole site just in time.
We combined the poster distribution with the run home, sprinting between lampposts to put up the posters around the whole neighbourhood. Once this was complete we finished the run at a good pace just as it was starting to get dark.
It was great work all round, and everyone got stuck in despite the first wet and dark evening since the summer! Special mention to Becky who did brilliantly on her first GoodGym run
