Who you gonna call? GoodGym Redbridge! OK. It's not as good as the original but eight of Redbridge's finest Goodgymers met to make Wanstead a better place and ran 7km in the process.

It's Wanstead Festival this week and what could be more fitting for GG Redbridge than to help local legend and organiser of Wanstead Community Gardeners, Marian, with a project to build a new planter outside Wanstead Station.

After the usual briefing and gossip at Wanstead House, the group of intrepid runners headed to the first of two stops to help load the water tank that is being used for the planter. With just over a mile covered and the tank loaded into the car, it was time to run to Marian's house to load up hardcore and grab some polystyrene sheets to insulate the tank.

The final stop was back at Wanstead Underground station where the team unloaded the tank, filled it with hardcore and soil and admired an evenings good work. We even had time for a further 4km run up past the Snaresbrook station and back to Wanstead House.
