I'm still wondering why the experience of queuing to pick up Miss N's meds at Boots earlier today brought back the same sensation of standing outside (usually low grade) nightclubs back in student days...those mixed feelings of anticipation and whether I had the right ID in my pocket, and hopefully enough to buy at least a round...ah, happy days (sort of) pre lockdown.

To be fair, I was very impressed by the way the doorman at Boots dealt methodically (strictly one in, one out) with the thankfully short queue, and once in, it was a very efficient process with the friendly pharmacist to pick up Miss N's repeat prescription and step out again through the manually controlled sliding door into the chilly sunshine...and then was only a quick walk to her flat nearby.

A brief (socially distanced) chat with the lady at the main entrance (once I'd found it...) and then it was upstairs to drop off the bag for Miss N, and explain to her that one item was missing as they didn't have the necessary item in stock today. I said that if she needed another pick up for that she should submit a repeat request through the original referrer.

So a straightforward Tuesday lunchtime mission, always interesting to visit a different part of the city during the lockdown, especially in the sunshine, and then back on the bike for a roundabout way home to get my daily exercise.

Well done Nick - and good to see that furloughed nightclub bouncers have clearly found a new role manning the doors at Boots!
