Report written by Katherine (she/her)
2 Goodgymers returned to the Kenilworth Centre to help with more of their big garden project.
We have done quite a bit of weeding and digging at their garden before, but today's task was a particularly weedy border that desperately needed a makeover. Thankfully the lovely people at the Kenilworth Centre had put some water on the border over recent days and with the added rain today it made the digging relatively easy work.
This was lucky as in addition to the weeds, there was quite a bit of rubble in the border, with Nigel finding various bits of paving as he dug down deeper in the border to get out the pesky weed roots. We also uncovered a couple of enormous cockchafer beetles!
Once all the weeding was done, we gave the border a good dig over and then swept the area to clear all the soil that we had managed to flick around the area. Hopefully you can spot the difference between the "before" and "after" photos!
Having been to help with weeding and digging of the borders at the Centre a number of times previously, it was lovely to see some of the new plants have finally gone in to the beds. The transformation is starting to take shape!
