It was a rare gloriously hot and sunny day when 2 Liverpool Goodgymmer's headed to Vauxhall to help Mr J. He had an old washing machine in the middle of his kitchen, and we'd been asked to move it outside for him so it could be collected. Pauline cycled and Bekah - using the heat as an excuse not to run! - walked, each travelling a couple of miles to get to Mr J's house. Mr J warmly welcomed both of us, and after a quick chat, we set to work. The washing machine had 1 wheel remaining so after some manoeuvring we were fairly quickly able to get it outside to the front of the house where it would be picked up. Mr J explained the house had belonged to his Mum and he'd taken it over when she'd sadly passed, due to this is was the wider family's basecamp, the place they all came to meet up and the house they turned to in times of trouble. Mr J was very grateful for our help and we were pleased he now had his kitchen back, the difference to the space was clear. It was a quick job for us, but a big difference for Mr J, who can now get back to hosting duties!
