Bexley News...
The evening felt a bit warmer than last week as we met at Crook Log!
11 of us headed outside for a warmup session before heading off to the Greenwich and Bexley Hospice shop task.
We had a new pack of cards for our game of 11 card pick up. One day we might get round to the whole deck of cards 🤪 As we went round the circle, each runner revealed their card, dictating our exercises. In the mix we had -squat jumps -lunges -star jumps -twists
There seemed to be a lot of lunges and squat jumps on the cards tonight!
We were all now quite warmed up and so split into our teams of runners and walkers.
Nick was leading the walking group who took the direct route along Welling High Street straight to the shop.
The running group took a slight detour and went on a longer route, getting in a few extra steps going over the railway bridge.
Not long after the running group had arrived at the shop did the walking group follow.
We were quick to get stuck in to the job that Lorraine had prepared for us which was a new and exciting task of sorting out all of the Christmassy donations ready to go on sale at the weekend. There were quite a few boxes of Christmassy knick knacks and decorations which needed to be sorted. As the storage area was quite small, we made a production line to get the boxes to the shop floor to give us all more room.
As we begun sorting through the boxes we were entertained by some of the items...singing hats, Chris the Moose and every kind of Christmas DVD you could imagine.
After we had sorted and priced most of the donations it was time to leave.
We said our goodbyes and headed back to base! Thankfully the rain had stopped for our run back!
After no time, we were back at Crook Log. We had a quick cool down and talked of how to get the best sportwear bargains!
This week we had to say goodbye to Emmanuel as he is leaving us to go and spend Christmas in Mauritius! Have a fabulous time and we will be seeing you in the new year!
Until next week...
Happy running!
