Alice and Sheila helped out at the Baby Bank one rainy Friday morning. Sheila was tasked with preparing some toiletry packs, ready to hand out to mums in need, and later moved on to sorting through some clothes donations. The Baby Bank has recently launched a Christmas Pyjama Appeal, to provide local children in need with a brand new set of winter pyjamas, a chocolate selection box and a new book, all packaged in a Christmas gift bag. . They have been inundated with donations, with more coming in all the time. Alice set to work with two of the other volunteers checking that the bags contained the items as requested, and that the book was age-appropriate for the pyjamas provided. These were then labelled for the age range and stored ready for the referral partners to pick up. Another satisfying and productive session for this worthwhile charity
The Baby Bank collects donations of good quality clothes, equipment, and furniture to help families in extreme need. They provide essentials ranging from everyday items like nappies, and wipes to larger items like cots. They support families beyond the baby stage, for example with school uniform. They aim to give all children the best possible start in life.
