Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Some may have thought our six runners were NUTS this morning as we they took on the challenge of a shortish run of 4k with a challenging task for Transition Bath with HEAVY SHOWERS forecast.
Our location today was Smallcombe Nuttery at the foot of Bath`s famous SKLYLINE, Transition Bath Nuttery Working in partnership with the National Trust have planted 37 nut trees on an access site available to the local community - in Smallcombe Vale near Widcombe. Have a look at the Nuttery Scrapbook here.
I think the forecast may have put a few off coming along today but safe in the knowledge that our host Virginia would be ready and waiting for us, we made our way out to our location along the canal Path towards Widcombe. we regrouped in the form of some squats to keep those legs nice and strong and injury free.
True to form Virginia was ready and waiting for us at The Nuttery , after a debrief and introduction we split up. Ellen got to grips with the saw to cut up some wood and stacked it ready in the wood pile whilst Sam clipped away at the brambles in the hedge leading to the Nuttery, leaving Emily Alexandra Mary and Steph at the foot of the trees for some much needed weeding. We even managed to avoid the heavy showers with a slight sprinkling.
We spent an hour on todays task but made 5 minutes spare to enjoy a nice cuppa and chocky biscuit kindly supplied by our host before we helped to pack up and navigate the Barrow over the Kissing gate. A quick group photo was in order before we bid farewell but promise to return on MAY 14th ( one to put in your diary ).
It was a short run back down to the leisure centre for a stretch out and I have to confess I forgot to ask for your pun ideas before leaving so I apologise as I'm sure you had a better one in mind.
Thanks again everyone it was a great fun today even though we had a shower. YOU ARE AWESOME PEOPLE
