5 excellent runners brave the rain to smash a 5km run and some strength work
It rained a lot and sadly our outdoor gardening task was cancelled as the area we were meant to be digging was underwater. Topically we meet at the London Aquatics Centre in Newham and this week Brahma was off to a wedding so Lambeth trainer Katie stepped into his wellies.
With no task ahead of us we bravely set out for a tour of the Olympic park, over some big roads onto the lovely Hackney Marshes. There were some optional water jumps for those looking to make it more of a steeplechase and after a solid 5km we took shelter under a bridge and Katie put everyone through some strength work challenges. We have some walking lunges, some single leg squats and some single leg deadlifts. There were some lovely angles and some wobbles and lots of ankle strength and balancing.
After some stretches we all got in our canoes and paddled home. Great running Newham, thanks for having me!
