SESSION ORGANISER
Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Liv Parker-Scott
For the penultimate run of the year we had a small but hardy group of 7 runners out to spread the word of local organisation Ealing 135. It's a group we've supported on a few occasions now and as it's a entirely volunteer led what we do for them really helps keep them going!
To keep things interesting this week we split into two teams and areas and I compiled a little quiz for each to answer on their rounds. Putting their GoodGym and Christmas knowledge to the test there were questions such as 'How many good deeds have been completed by GoodGym as a whole?' and 'What is the fastest marathon time dressed as Santa Claus?'. How would you fare? Check out all the questions on the Facebook group!
After about 6km of leafleting and covering a good amount of ground we met back to go through the answers and with an exercise forfeit for each wrong answer there was a lot a stake (mainly the risk of very cold hands for planking on the icy grass!) Everyone did really badly (I may have made it purposefully tricky to enforce additional exercise...) but a few fluke correct answers from one team gave us a decider...
The winners were team area A with Michael, Jenni and Emily earning themselves a round of drinks at the next social!
We all headed back to base to enjoy the mince pie fudge Jenni had brought along and to get fanned down by Micheal who's been gifted the red GoodGym fan as a birthday present and thank you for joining the task force, when the weather gets hot he'll be there to assist!
Despite the freezing temperatures a big bonus to running at time of year in all the lovely Christmas lights we get to see on the way round, some would say it's the most runderful time of the year! A big thank you for braving the cold with me this week, just one more task to do before we wrap up a great year of good deeds!
Hopefully see you all next time!
