Running 4 miles, Heetu arrived at the home of Mrs S, ready to tackle a perennial problem...weeds growing between paving flags. I had cycled about 9 miles and was happy to get started straight away.

Mrs S has very recently lost her husband, who was a keen gardener, so the weeds in her garden were difficult for her to see every day. Mr S would have cleared them away and Mrs S was unable to weed the garden herself.

Heetu and I set to, and after an hour and a half, had made quite a positive impression ...Mrs S was very happy with the result and couldn't thank us enough.

We also had quite a chat with Mrs S. She spoke fondly of her husband, their son, and their three rescue dogs. Mr S was well known in the area, as he walked the dogs daily around the streets...pushing one of them in a dog pram, as it was unable to walk unaided.

As we left, Mrs S was somewhat uplifted, at this very difficult time, and thanked us for our hard work.

I am hoping that we may return, and put in place a more permanent solution to the weed problem.
