Report written by Nicola Marshall
We had a night of clothes sorting lined up for this evening’s task at Motherwell but there was a last-minute change of plan and instead we were asked to do some planting and deliver some leaflets. We were all very happy with this change of plan as it meant that we got to spend the evening out in the sunshine!!
After a busy of few days of parkrun tourism in Amsterdam, Denmark & Sweden and returning in the very early hours of the morning, Karen & Maurice (and I!) were happy to do a walk instead of a run this evening. Coupled with the fact that Karen & Maurice had just travelled back from doing 3 parkruns in 3 days, part of our task this evening was leafleting, so it seemed the sensible thing to do. So that’s what we did! We headed off for a brisk walk in the lovely evening sun! It was a lovely time to enjoy a warm spring/almost summer evening, walking through the park and catching up on all the news from Karen & Maurice. I loved hearing about their Parkrun antics and travels – it sounds like an amazing time was had by all!
Back at Motherwell and we set to work with our jobs for the evening. Karen got given the job (by me – sorry Karen!) of planting the sunflowers and tomato plants into the raised beds. Karen enjoys gardening and is definitely more skilled in this area than Maurice or me (sorry Maurice, no offence!). We left Karen getting her hands mucky with the compost, while Maurice and I headed off out to deliver the leaflets. We only had the immediate estate to deliver to, so not too many to do. We had a nice chat to one of our other Goodgymer’s, Kat, this evening as we saw her enroute as she lives on the estate. It was lovely to stop and say hello!
Tonight also marked an incredible milestone… Maurice hit his 200th task! Well done Maurice, an amazing achievement!! We are so proud of you for all your hard work and dedication to Goodgym. Our Wednesday night’s simply wouldn’t be the same without you. Colin awaits you at 250!!
Well done on another great effort this evening. It was, as always, an absolute pleasure to be with you both.
Have a great week. Lots of love, Nicola xx
