Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Norwich runner
This morning I woke up to see the drizzle ad wasn't too keen to go out, but I'm glad I volunteered for bar code scanning because all this good stuff happened, here's my top 10.
Dave came 3rd!!! 3rd place!!! (but seriously though Dave get a new barcode, you can't not be getting that amount of effort recorded!)
Liz and Bex got out into the horrible weather. Liz has done lots of volunteering recently on Saturdays and with the Juniors. Bex helped out with sorting the finish tokens and only laughed a little bit when I realised I had about 50 tokens in my pocket after scanning...oops!
Michelle was barcode scanning and as a Run Director had a keen eye and hand to everything that was happening. She's off running this afternoon, nice one Michelle - enjoy!
Even with the temporary course (we need the grass to grow on the new path banks) everyone was great and super supportive dodging the holly bush on the first lap round.
My daughter Jess got frustrated with the token sorting but actually was brilliant for a whole 2 hours volunteering :)
A young chap volunteered this week to do his Duke of Edinburgh and was super helpful, he's going to go to the Juniors to finish his work - awesome stuff.
Lots of thank yous today for volunteering and 3 new volunteers signed up so really pleased people are stepping forward.
One of our last walkers said that today was the first time in around 70 parkruns he has done that it rained a little - good going.
I heard lots of people wishing each other good luck for races tomorrow which was great to hear - good luck anyone running for racing/for fun/for yourself/because you can!!
10.Today people got up and got out to Eaton park to run - including 5 Goodgymmers running and volunteering. :) We are master of all trades at Goodgym and this week Dave is master of the run!
If you would like to volunteer please email: norwichhelpers@parkrun.com and I will get you on the roster!
Happy running,
Hayley
