Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Susan Gillie
Mrs. W's house was easy enough to find, being located just off the Round Sheffield Run route with which we are all now familiar. So we all arrived on time (ish) to find a beautiful, secluded garden, which had everything from, flower beds, strawberries, rhubarb, apple, pear and plum trees, and even a minature fairy house! Some of the bushes had become quite overgrown, so we set to work pruning and smartening up. Bee and Suze pruned as far as their height allowed, but giant James came to the rescue for the upper levels, and soon had the tops looking shipshape. We then spread some compost flower beds to protect them from drying out any further. James again did the lion's share of the work, sprinkling the heavy bags of compost around like they were tiny bags of crisps. What a top guy - well worthy of his upcoming black T shirt.
Mrs. W kept us company while we worked, and soon found out that James now lives in the flats she had lived in with her late husband when they were first married - small world eh! The photo album came out for a trip down memory lane and some comparisons of then vs now.
A lovely morning in a lovely garden, we hope to be back soon!
