In the last hours of the last day of January, 3 brave runners faced icy conditions to bag a final good deed.
With snow and ice on the ground and my weather app suggesting there was a "real feel" of -8 degrees centigrade, I met Mat and Emma at Jubilee Sports Bank - a community sports centre based in one of the most under-resourced areas of the city. Our task was to distribute to local homes 70 leaflets advertising a new season of sports classes and events. With more than a chill in the air, we didn't hang about and jogged our way around the local housing estate, dodging ice and snow as we went. We made short work of the task, getting all the leaflets delivered in around 20 minutes.
These last 3 good deeds have tipped us over the 100 mark! GoodGym Liverpool finishes their very first January Challenge with a total of 102 good deeds and 807kms clocked.
For first timers, this is a brilliant effort and I'm proud of the whole team. But special kudos tonight for Emma and Mat who went above and beyond on this snowy evening to take us over that century mark. Boom!
