Report written by Emma Nibbs (they/them)
Our gang of 11 were in jubilant spirits as the end of an EPIC January Challenge was in sight.
Meeting on our usual stomping ground of Hope Street, we split into smaller teams to set to work delivering approx 300 leaflets around the gorgeous Georgian Quarter, spreading the word about for the fab Granby Street Market helping them to reach a wider audience for their first market of 2020.
As we completed our mission, we naturally gravitated towards the pub, and regrouped at Static Bar ready for an end of month celebration.
Far surpassing our initial expectations, our small but perfectly formed team dug deep, and after a month of hard graft managed to finish in an impressive 4th place in the January Challenge area rankings, with a grand total of 435 Good Deeds Done!
Everyone has risen to the challenge and pitched in, but we must acknowledge some truly astronomical efforts:
Our Queen Pauline has finished at the top of the National Heroes leaderboard with an unfathomable 69 Good Deeds!
Mat and Sam have proved a formidable duo, also placing on the national leaderboard as GoodGym Top Men, coming in joint 8th with an incredible 40 Good Deeds a piece. Inspirational!
Hats off to everyone who contributed to this amazing feat, we really have done such a lot of good in our lovely city and we couldn’t be prouder.
Granby Four Streets Community Land Trust wants to create a thriving, vibrant mixed community, building on the existing creativity, energy and commitment within the community, where people from all walks of life can live, work and play.
