Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Tonight there was a fantastic turnout in Croydon for a 6km run to a task at Waddon Youth Centre
After a bracing run to the centre, punctuated with a quick dynamic warmup and a hillsprint, we met Paul who gave us our tools and instructions. The task? Tackling some stubborn ivy that had been taking over the front wall and back fence. This involved secateurs, gloves, bin liners (of which we filled several), and carefully avoiding a particularly prickly bush.
Once we finished all this, we made our way back. We did a few sprint intervals, with fartlek and last man up both attempted. Since we were a little short on time, we didn't get the chance to repeat our hill sprints from earlier, much to the relief of some of the group!
Tonight we were joined by Steve and Sophie for their first Goodgym group run experience. Both did some fantastic running, and great work at the Youth Centre. We hope to see them again soon!
There's a run happening next week, but before then we have one of our Starter runson Sunday 22nd so please sign up and feel free to bring family or friends along. They are particularly suitable for those who want to see what GoodGym is all about or who may be worried about the running bit. For the Goodgym Croydon regulars, it'll be a nice chance to do a task and spread the word about Goodgym. The second starter session is on Saturday 28th, finally having a go at the mural in Park Hill!
If you haven't already, join the Croydon Goodgym facebook group, and share the posts about the above with your friends and family.
Well done on a fantastic bit of (extended) running tonight, and on a great job at the Youth Centre!
