Happy New Year everyone. Well today was our first Good Deed of 2019 and what a great one it was. Meeting up as usual at Crooklog sports centre we were ready to meet our guests. Thanks Johnny and Sarah for coming along, and a warm welcome to Kim who came all the way from up north to help with our litter picking task this morning.
Well we definitely needed a warm up this morning as it was absolutely freezing. After a good quality run around it was time to pick up our weapons and descend on Danson Park to give it a good spring cleaning. With litter pickers and rubbish bags to hand we were buzzing around like bees picking up rubbish and trying to keep warm. We headed out and up into the Old English Gardens a place close to our hearts and although we were out litter picking it really was quite upsetting to see how much rubbish had been left by the benches with bins only feet away. It does ask the question WHY??
Anyway it wasn't long before we were heading up and into the children's play area where we had a real positive reaction from the parents and the children, with some of the children also wanting a go with the pickers........
With time now pressing it would of been rude not to head on out to the Danson house to make sure all was good in that particular beautiful area. Well it wasn't but it certainly was when we left. With time now beating us we bagged up and place them by the bins for collection and made a mad dash for home.
Thanks everyone that showed up. I really hope you enjoyed the after with Bexley Goodgym. Until next time have a wonderful weekend. Tim...........
