Report written by Gwyn Williams
When the sun comes shining through after a foggy night (see our report here), it's a good morning for junior parkrun. The ground was soggy and wasted water's all that is, and it don't make no flowers grow, it just got our feet wet and made it slippery on the course, but it didn't put the young heroes here off; we can make it if we try was their attitude, and they did!
The greight happy team, led by Rachel, who had some good news and some nibbles to celebrate Markeaton junior parkrun's eighth birthday, did a sterling job (or rather, given the weakness of the pound in the last few years, a pieces of eight job) of running the event. Even the funnel tape joined in, tying itself into a figure of eight knot. Tracey and I were so pleased to join the team! We then had a gentle run round the parkrun 5k course, and made sure that we weren't leight for the next GoodGym session.
Fun and friendly, junior parkrun is a great start to a Sunday.
