Share the love

This evening Claire, Meggie, Sophie and Tara got busy at the Maidenhead Community Allotment:

  • they made amazing progress on digging the new bed;
  • they watered everything from the jungle of courgettes to thirsty tomatoes, the newly planted walnut tree, and new spinach seedlings;
  • and Meggie, who is now very handy with the hose, worked on filling up the water butts.

As Tara put it:

Alan Titchmarsh has nothing on us!

Then there was the part of the evening where Brian from the Men in Sheds popped by and they all munched on some cavolo nero, pretended they had been awarded leafy greens for running races, and so on...

Do we have fun at the allotment? Kale yeah!

This task supported

The Maidenhead Community Allotment is run by a group of volunteers, who grow food to share with local residents, the users of the Boyn Grove Community and Resource Centre and Maidenhead Foodshare. They work with Men in Sheds, who are based on the same site. Men in Sheds is an initiative to combat loneliness by providing a space for men to connect and chat over practical tasks.

We munched our way through a bunch of kale and cavello nero leaves and we were STILL hungry!

We better watch out or you’ll turn into a bunch of butterflies and fly off!
