Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
GoodGym Barnet ran about 3km this week to paint the RSPCA's clinic in Finchley.
We were joined by Aimee from the Phoenix Cinema for her first run with us – so a big welcome to the gang to her. Hopefully see you in a red GoodGym shirt of your own very soon!
With our destination only 400m away from our base at the Phoenix, we started our run by heading in the opposite direction to Cherry Tree Woods for a warm up game of tag. Will came out victorious by a narrow margin, before we all headed off towards the clinic. Our detour and warm up games turned 400m into 1.5km, which we were all very pleased with. We were greeted by Emma at the RSPCA clinic who treated us to water and fruit for our efforts.
Armed with rollers, paint brushes and tins of blue, the team set to work on the first coat. Damian, who stands at a huge 6"7', turned out to be the perfect height for painting the edges between the wall and the ceiling. I thought this would also make him a good selfie taker, but it turns out he needs some practice, as you can see from the photos above!
The team managed to complete the first coat of the entire room – as well as the little entrance – in half an hour, leaving us plenty of time to run back to Cherry Tree Woods for a strength and mobility session. In honour of our furry friends at the RSCPA, we worked on a few animal crawls, including bear crawls, inch worms and Spider-Mans. **
We finished up with a sprint back to base, some Oreos and a trip to a nearby pub.
Next week we'll be running slightly futher, back to Long Lane Pasture where it all began to help get the meadow ready for autumn. Be sure to sign up.
**None of these animals were found at the RSPCA clinic.

It will help make the reservoir cleaner and safer for visitors and the many plants, birds and animals that live there.
