8 Goodgymmers met at Saffron Acres Community garden project today to help prepare the soft fruits area. After our safety briefing being some members' first time on site, some have already helped here some 4/5 years ago, it was nice for them to see the progress and return.
We were guided by Jack who showed us the ropes. The team quickly got stuck in pulling up tarpaulin that had done its job and now weeds were growing over the top. Rolled up and tipped into the wheelbarrows, Jimmy Riley had great technique for this, bricklayers son! You can see from the photos of rolled up black tarpaulin how much was pulled up.
Stu and our newest member today Lynn helped by turning over the soil and pulling up the weeds, great to see you again Lynn and hopefully your GoodGym t-shirt will be with you soon.
Fantastic efforts team, Jack was surprised how much you all achieved in the space of time, any physical task where more hands makes for a lighter load you all give it your best and are such a strong team! Weldone all strength work out complete and myself, Tommo and Jimmy cycled 6 to 8 miles each, rest day for Stu as he knocked out a half marathon just for the fun of it yesterday, amazing!
Several acres of orchards, Heath land , trees and meadows, lots to do a various points of the year e.g. Mulching in winter, fruit picking in Autumn etc
