David and James ran to Mrs I’s house to move a bed and a couch so that she could return from hospital to the comfort of her own home.

We were met by Mrs I’s son who showed us the bed we needed to move downstairs and outside where it would be picked up later that day.

As seasoned GoodGym mission runners, we know that beds in need of moving come in many shapes and sizes. As do stairwells and hallways. Were we feeling lucky? Fortunately this morning, yes, we were. The bed was light and easily carried. The passage twixt first floor bedroom and building entrance most commodious.

In fact our biggest obstacle was inadvertently shutting ourselves out of the house after taking the mattress downstairs. Our knocks and buzzing met with no initial response as Mrs I’s son was doing a spot of hoovering.

We recovered though and made quick work of the base and even quicker work of shifting a couch in the living room to make space for an expected new chair.

We then headed off in search of further adventure – James to work and David to a haircut. Godspeed good deeders.
